39-year-old Yolanda Ostoloza brought her 15-year-old daughter to New York City from Florida to have her work as a prostitute, said authorities.
According to the court papers, Ostoloza knew what she was doing with her daughter. A criminal complaint showed that she told the police officers, “We came up here to work and make money with a pimp. I knew it was for escorting and prostitution. I thought my daughter was just going to do the fetish stuff”.
Bronx vice detectives agreed to meet the teen at the New York Hilton in Midtown on Wednesday at midnight and they made a deal to pay the girl $200 for an undisclosed sex act. Before they were about to slap the cuffs on her, the girl told that her age is only 15 years and that her mother was waiting for her at another hotel.
Police officers went over to the Double Tree Metropolitan on Lexington Ave. and E. 51st St. and found Ostoloza. They took her into custody and charged her for promoting prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child.
23-year-old Tara Todd, who is Ostoloza’s friend, was also taken into custody but according to the court officials, she is not being prosecuted.
On Wednesday, a Manhattan Criminal Court judge ordered Ostoloza to be held in lieu of $2,000 bail. She is summoned to court on Monday. The judge also granted a temporary order of protection for her daughter who was handed over to the city’s Administration of Children’s Services.
Police officers were still searching for the pimp with whom Ostoloza was working.
As the Super Bowl is approaching, the city has been cracking down on prostitution all around the city.
18 individuals after a yearlong investigation into a high-end prostitution ring based in Manhattan are charged, according to the authorities.
The NYPD and the state attorney general’s office teamed up for the crackdown and the investigation. Police said that the flesh-peddling ring operated from an apartment at 207 E. 37th St. and the nerve center of the operation was another pad at 148 E. 30th St.
41-year-old Hyun Ok Yoonung was taken into custody at her Long Island home.
All the individuals were taken into custody a week after police staged a crackdown all over the city from 23rd of January to 25th of January where 87 customers were caught attempting to negotiate forbidden love from undercover cops.
